The South Korean Musical Bien-Aimée wins six Tony Awards

The Broadway version of the beloved musical may have won six Tony Awards, including the best musical.
The production on friendship between two humanoid robots was nominated for 10 prizes on Sunday. He also won the best book of a musical and the best original partition.
Perhaps Happy Ending was created in South Korea in 2016 and made its debut on Broadway in 2024 to complimentary criticism.
Tony’s victories gave EGOT status in South Korea, which means that he won the four most important prizes in American entertainment. The South Koreans also won EMMYS for television, Grammys for Music and, more recently, four Oscars for the film Parasite in 2020.
Hue Park and Will Aronson won the Tony for the best book of a musical.
The former Glee star, Darren Criss, who played one of the robots, Oliver, won the best main actor in a musical. It was his first victory of Tony.
The musical, which also features Helen J. Shen as a robot Claire, was already on a sequence of this prize -ceremony season.
He has banged some of the best prices to external Critics Circle Awards and Drama League Awards this year.
First of all Directed by Kim Dong-Yon, maybe Happy Ending was presented at first in Seoul almost a decade ago with great renowned. It has since been revived several times in South Korea and abroad – in Korean and English.
Perhaps Happy Ending’s success occurs while South Korean artists continue to innovate in entertainment, especially in pop music in recent years.
In 2022, the affection of the historic King drama became the first South Korean series to win an international EMMY-which recognizes the television programming produced and broadcast outside the United States.
The same year, the South Korean Squid Game dystopian thriller became the first non-English-speaking television series to be nominated and win the Emmy Awards Primetime.
As for the Grammys, the South Korean soprano Sumi Jo won one for the best opera recording in 1993 – the first in the country to win this award.
The hopes were raised for Boyband BTS, which has been nominated three times for the best pop group performance since 2021, but he has not yet won it.
