Nicolas Lodeiro making goodbye to Dynamo on Saturday evening

The double MLS champion, Nicolas “Nico” Lodeiro, will appear for the Houston Dynamo on Saturday evening.

The team confirmed that their home match with St. Louis City SC will be the last for the 36 -year -old midfielder with Houston.

A press release published by Dynamo on Saturday afternoon said Lodeiro would be recognized before the match and made available to the media thereafter.

Several reports indicate that Lodeiro will join Nacional, the club he supported while growing up in his native Uruguay.

Lodeiro has a goal and a decisive pass in 15 mLS (six departures) this season, its 10th in MLS.

Lodeiro signed a one -year agreement with the Dynamo in February which included a club option for 2026. He played his first eight seasons with the Sounders of Seattle and spent 2024 with Orlando City.

He helped Seattle win the MLS Cup in 2016 and 2019 and the CONCACAF Champions League title in 2022. He won the best honors of MLS XI in 2018, 2020 and 2022. He was a finalist for the MVP 2020 prize and won the League’s newcomer prize in 2016.

He has 43 goals and 12 assists in 240 career MLS games, including 201 departures.
