Zupee stops real silver games as an online game bill adopted by Parliament, to continue with free popular titles
Zupee, one of the main online gaming startups of India led by Cashgrail Private Limited, has officially ceased to offer real money game services after the legislation by Rajya Sabha of the promotion and regulation of the online gaming invoice, 2025. The legislation prohibits all online games involving monetary locations, visual effects for promotion) AVGC (animation, visual effects, social players).
Founded in 2018 by Dilsher Singh Malhi and Siddhant Saurabh, Zupee, based in Gurugram, had become a major player in the real silver game ecosystem. Zupee competes with industry heavyweights like Winzo, Games24x7 and Mobile Premier League (MPL). The real money games sector now undergoes a massive disruption, operators quickly adjusting trade models in response to government’s repression.
The reports suggest that Dream11, the largest fantastic sports platform in India, is also preparing to close its real playing arm. The CEO of Dream Sports, Harsh Jain, would have informed employees that there was no legal journey to continue operations once the law is applied. The company plans to pivot towards other verticals, notably Fancode, Dreamsetgo and Dream Game Studios, reported CNBC TV18.
Historically, more than 90% of Dream Sports revenues came from the paid competitions of DREAM11. Founded in 2008 by Harsh Jain and Bhavit Sheth, DREAM11 has more than 280 million registered users.
Union Minister Ashwini Vahnaw stressed that the government’s approach is “balanced”, prioritizing the protection of families in the middle class of financial damage. In an article on the microblogging X platform, he noted that the bill addresses the risks of fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing associated with real money games, following thousands of complaints from across the country.
The promotion and regulation of the online gaming bill, 2025, should redefine the digital game ecosystem of India, encouraging safety, creative and socially committing gaming experiences while slowing down a real harmful game.
