Zomato increases platform fees to Rs 12 of RS 10 per order

Zomato increased platform costs on food delivery orders from 10 to Rs 12 per order. This hike occurs while the company plans a wave during the holiday season.

According to reports, these costs also include the goods and services tax (TPS).

The Zomato Swiggy rival had also increased its platform fees to RS 14, including TPS, in certain PIN codes. The two food delivery platforms had introduced these costs in 2023 and increased it for intervals.

The complete food delivery platform approximately 2.3 to 2.5 million orders per day. With the new RS 12 platform fees, this translates into RS 3 crores every day in income for the company.

Meanwhile, Parent Eternal reported solid financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 26. The company recorded growth of 67% in annual shift and 22% of quarters on adjusted consolidated revenues, reaching 7,563 complaints of rupees in the first quarter.

Quick Commerce was the key engine, the net control value increasing by 127% in annual sliding and 25% quarterly to 9,203 rupes. This is the first time that the value of rapid fast trade command has exceeded that of food delivery.

During the quarter, Eternal added 243 new Dark stores, bringing the total to 1,544. The company began to moderate its expansion to focus on operational efficiency. Profitability has also shown an improvement, the margins going from -2.4% of the net value of the order to the previous quarter to -1.8%.

The consolidated net profit of Eternal for the quarter of June 2025 fell from 90.12% in annual shift to 25 belles of rupees, against 253 belles of rupes during the same period last year. However, this drop was offset by strong income growth, which increased from 70.40% to Rs 7,167 crore, driven by the rapid growth of its vertical fast trade, Blinkit.
