Microphones are common on most headphones and headphones, but on game specific helmets, you are more likely to find boom microphones that are exceeded in one of the ears. These tend to offer better audio quality, as well as some other features that you may want to consider when buying a new helmet.

Holding your own voice can help you know how much you talk, in particular with the quality of sound isolation on some of these helmets. The dedicated software will often allow you to adjust this, but if not, you could be stuck with the default setting.
The quality of the audio counts to a certain extent, but if you are interested in streaming or podcasting, you will want to consult USB, consult the USB microphones. They require an additional investment and an office space, but will provide an audio closer to what you could expect from professional audio equipment.
