YouTube TV offers customers $20 credit in case of Disney outage

YouTube TV subscribers unhappy with going more than a week without ESPN, ABC and other Disney networks will receive a $20 credit that can be applied to their next billing statement.

Variety first reported on the credit, and a YouTube spokesperson confirmed the news to TechCrunch. The company says the credits are currently rolling out, with subscribers receiving instructions via email on how to apply them.

Disney Channels were removed from the subscription television service on October 31. YouTube says that if it reaches an agreement, these channels will be reinstated within a few hours. As with similar disputes, this one appears to revolve around pricing, with YouTube criticizing Disney’s alleged price gouging and Disney claiming that YouTube “refuses to pay fair rates for our channels.”

The subscription TV service’s last dispute with Disney was in 2022, which resulted in YouTube TV offering its customers a $15 credit after removing Disney programming for a day.
