Yankees acquired Austin Slater from White Sox

The New York Yankees acquired the Austin Slater Slater from the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday in exchange for the prospect of piercing Ziehl.

Slater, 32, is the last addition for the Yankees before the commercial deadline on Thursday, joining Infielders Ryan McMahon and Amed Rosario. He should also provide depth with Slugger Aaron Judge on the injured list.

The right -handed right -hander strikes. 236 with five circuits and 11 points produced in 51 games this season for Chicago.

Slater is a career striker .250 with 45 circuits and 182 points produced in 685 games with the Giants of San Francisco (2017-24), Cincinnati Reds (2024), Baltimore Orioles (2024) and White Sox.

Ziehl, a 22-year-old right-hander, has a 5-4 file with an MPM of 4.15 in 16 games (15 departures) for three teams from minors this season.

The White Sox also recalled the voltiseur Will Robertson from Triple-A Charlotte. He was bought in Toronto on July 10.

Robertson, 27, made his MLB debut with the Blue Jays on June 15 and hits 0.063 (1 for 16) with a product point and 11 stick withdraws in seven games in the majors.
