With the hopes of the title al East vanish, the Yankees prepare for a revenge match against the o

New York Yankees cannot afford to miss the chances of getting closer to the summit of the American League East.
This could make the match on Saturday evening against the host Baltimore Orioles even more crucial since the Yankees have only eight competitions in their calendar.
“We are working to shake hands (after the victories) and put ourselves in the best position heading down,” said New York manager Aaron Boone. “It’s the following. (Saturday) becomes super important too.”
The Yankees (86-68) scored 27 points in three games until they were limited to four strokes during the 4-2 defeat on Friday evening. The reverse kept three games in New York behind the Jays Blue Blue at the head of Al East.
New York did not ride much in six rounds against the start of Baltimore Trevor Rogers.
“We didn’t press him much,” said Boone. “We ran his account. We made it work.”
The Orioles (73-81) won four of their last five games. They are trying to slow down a New York team that has won six of its last nine games.
“This team is there, this programming, they were one of the best teams in baseball recently,” said the acting manager of Baltimore, Tony Mansolino. “They played very well.”
Friday, there was a notable offensive achievement for the Yankees with Jazz Chisholm Jr. Homering for its 30th long seasonal ball. He has these circuits to go with 30 stolen bases.
“(Go) 30-30 invokes a lot,” said Boone. “And certainly aligns with his skills. The fact that he did this with a month of the season, and not of racing (for stolen bases) for certain parts of the year. Just a glimpse of what he is a good player.”
The Orioles liked the way the defense arrived at the rescue because they were even able to the series. The recruit Dylan Beavers made some notable hooks in the left field, with Mansolino calling them “game games”.
Beavers has moved in the outside field, so he adapts to the major leagues.
“We ask (Beavers) to learn a new position in the big leagues,” said Mansolino. “He played the left field in the minor leagues but played above all the right field. He therefore made beautiful games there.”
The left-hander of the Yankees, Carlos Rodon (16-9, 3.11 ERA) will start on Saturday when he tries to break a personal sequence of two games. His only skid of three games came in his first three departures in April.
On April 29, he won his fourth victory of the season by limiting the Orioles to two points and two strokes in six rounds. During his career, Rodon has a 1-3 file with 5.15 MPM in eight appearances against Baltimore.
The right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano (10-8, 4.39) will start on Saturday for the Orioles. He has not won since August 14, but part of this comes because of fewer opportunities with the rotation of the six men of Baltimore. He held Toronto at one point on four strokes for six rounds last Saturday in a decision without a decision.
Sugano, who is in his first season in the majors, is 1-0 in two starts covering 8 2/3 rounds against. Yankees. He abandoned a home run in Aaron Judge during a June confrontation.
Orioles have made movements of alignment, in particular by putting the LEVER CHAYCE MCDERMOTT on the medical and family medical emergency list. They recalled the Jose Espada launcher from Triple-A Norfolk.
