Trump’s pro-Kyiv pivot increases the stakes: EU will release 200 € B in frozen Russian assets in Ukraine?

Bart MJ Szewczyk, author, member of the non-resident of the German Marshall Fund and auxiliary professor at Sciences Po, joined Genie Gudula to break the last rhetorical pivot of Donald Trump on Russia. The recent remarks of the American president, suggesting that Ukraine could “reconquer all of its territory”, marks a significant gap in the previously ambivalent and sympathetic position of its administration towards Moscow. While Mr. Szewczyk warns against taking Trump’s statements to his nominal value, he recognizes “it is a great diplomatic change and time will say if this results in additional economic pressure against Russia and greater military support in Ukraine”.
