The actor suffered another injury to continue filming

Although Ferrell escaped injury-free in McKay’s film, he unfortunately couldn’t avoid injury in season 7 of “The Office.” LOOPER reported that television producer Greg Daniels recalled the incident while speaking to hosts Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey on the “Office Ladies” podcast.
Ferrell, who played DeAngelo Vickers on the series, had to film a scene in which he imitated Michael Jordan’s free throw line dunk during the 1988 NBA slam-dunk contest.
The scene ended with Ferrell pulling the entire basket, backboard and stand onto his head, ultimately leading to his character’s death. Daniels admitted he was unsure about the scene because Ferrell had to be hoisted up using a harness and rope.
His fears were manifested when those controlling the platform pulled too hard and the actor crashed into the basketball hoop, injuring his knee. Daniels indicated he wanted to cancel the scene, but Ferrell stopped him from continuing filming.
