Conan O’Brien could soon make a long -awaited return to Late at nightThis time as a guest Late at night with Seth Meyers.
If this happens, it would mark a special moment in the history of the show, because it would mean that the three previous hosts appeared on the current version of the end of the NBC evening.
Seth Meyers shared the update during his FYC event in Los Angeles, where he was joined by the actor and longtime friend Ike Barinholtz, who asked him to appoint his guest “Golden Goose”.
Meyers did not hesitate to answer.
“I spoke to this person, and I think it will happen soon. They expressed their desire to do so. We only have four of us who did it on NBC and I am lucky to have a Letterman and I was lucky to have Fallon. I would like Conan to come back,” said Meyers.
He also praised the recent honor of O’Brien, qualifying the event “an incredible evening” in reference to Conan receiving the Mark Twain Prize for American humor at Kennedy Center.
Late at night First first in 1982 with David Letterman, who welcomed until 1993. Conan O’Brien followed and led the show until 2009, when he briefly moved The Tonight Show.
Jimmy Fallon took over until 2014 when Seth Meyers intervened. Letterman returned to the show in 2022 to mark his 40th anniversary.
Meanwhile, Meyers should welcome another big guest at the studio. George Clooney is officially reprogrammed to appear on Late at night Monday, June 2.
He was initially ready to join the program on May 5, but had to cancel. It will be the first time of Clooney in the series and arrives when he plays in a Broadway adaptation of his 2005 film Good night and good luckWho focused on journalist Edward R. Murrow.
