Why the extraterrestrials of the signs of Mr. Night Shyamalan have no sense

Ask anyone to classify the best films of Mr. Night Shyamalan, and there is a good chance that the “signs” will be somewhere in the top five, perhaps even taking first place. It’s understandable, really. The search for Mel Gibson in the corn fields and the exhaust of his sorrow is always a biting watch, with a culminating point being Joaquin Phoenix backing down by watching images of trembling cam from the birthday party of a child (which Shyamalan admitted to laughing during the shooting). And yet, even with all these great moments, the only thing whose “signs” remember for the most is its last great revelation which also exposes its greatest hole in the plot.
Throughout the film, the Reverend Graham Hess (Gibson) was waiting for these space creatures to finally approach their domestic lawn, which was covered with half full of water thanks to his daughter, Bo (Abigail Breslin). It was only by revisiting the last moments with his wife and by remembering his last wishes that he allowed his brother Merrill (Phoenix, who was originally ready to be played by Mark Ruffalo) to swing, crushing water containers all around the house when it is revealed as toxic to extraterrestrial invaders.
It is one of the most notable twists and turns in Shyamalan who does not imply Bruce Willis, but who stands out more than most for bad reasons. Although it is commendable that the good Reverend and his family have the appropriate defense of putting the extraterrestrials on the back, would the intruders have not considered such a problem during the visit of a planet more than 70% of water?
The extraterrestrials in the signs could be the worst space invaders of all time
Imagine that you are about to take up a planet inhabited by insignificant and inferior beings; Getting an idea of the local field would be an intelligent decision, right? Why, then, in the case of the Fest-Fest of Flee of UFOs and shyamalan waiting empine hats, the extraterrestrials do not take into account toxic wet stuff which not only cover the planet but often descends to dry soil at repeated intervals?
We alluded as the film progresses that the secret of sending the extraterrestrial packaging lies in the water, especially when Shyamalan himself, cameo as a killer of Graham’s woman, Ray Reddy, reveals that he plans to take refuge with a lake. Being near a body of water could do the trick, but why was it not discovered earlier than extraterrestrials don’t like to get wet? There was no report in areas that underwent precipitation that the extraterrestrials fled the premises? If they were confident enough to crush the birthday parties, they would have made a walk, for example, the United Kingdom, for example, and consequently, probably did not survive the trip (they would not have had the opportunity in Scotland, that’s for sure).
Even with this blatant problem, however, some fans have built their own theories on the reasons why the extraterrestrials could have ignored this, but barely.
A Reddit theory suggests that extraterrestrials knew the water and still attacked
As is the case with any enigma in the cinema, going online often solves as many problems as it creates. In the case of the line of the black hole in “Signs”, a theory posed that water was dangerous not only for extraterrestrials but also for humans. Throughout the film, Bo constantly asks for a fresh glass and indicates that something is wrong with water, which led them stacked throughout the house. A fan on Reddit suggested that the reason why BO (Abigail Breslin) continued to change glasses was because the water was, in fact, contaminated and that although deadly with extraterrestrials, it had only a light impact on humans.
The Redditor added that the water used on the Hess farm could have contained pesticides, which is why Bo was still complaining about it. The extraterrestrials who attack their house may also have been because it was far from the large bodies of water, assuming that they would be safe, only so that this is not the case.
Even with this explanation, the question of extraterrestrials meeting precipitation or cases where someone else discovered this weakness and announced it to the world before the drop in communication is not repressed. In that spirit, the best option may really be to ignore this problem in another thriller otherwise suspended.
