Newcastle lead race to sign 44 million pounds sterling wissa alternative

After missing their long -term goal, Hugo Ekitike, Newcastle United will look for alternative options in the transfer window this summer.
The Magpies had wanted to bring the Frankfurt Eintracht to enter this summer, the French considered a perfect addition to their attacker ranks.
However, Liverpool has diverted this move and should now sign the 23 -year -old in an agreement that could end up worth fixed costs of 69 million pounds sterling.
The Reds had previously tested Newcastle’s determination with an approach of 120 million pounds Sterling for Alexander Isak, who was firmly rejected.
Newcastle seeking to sign an ekitike alternative
In response, Newcastle focused their attention to Brentford Yoane Wissa with Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie, revealing that an offer of 25 million pounds sterling has been refused. The Toon should return with an additional offer of 30 million pounds sterling.
As an alternative, they could the Paris Saint-Germain striker, Randal Kolo Muani, who spent last season on loan to Juventus.
Speaking on the Podcast Football Transfers, journalist Duncan Castles noted: “Newcastle United is involved in the conversation, and I think that at present, it seems that they are the most likely destination for Kolo Muani.”
It is also indicated that PSG requests 50 million euros (44 million pounds sterling) for the 25 -year -old striker, and although Juventus wishes to make the agreement permanent, they have so far not reached the requested price.
It opened the door in Newcastle.
How Kolo Muani compared to Hugo Ekitike
On paper, Kolo Muani and Ekitike seem similar replacements: young French attackers who briefly fought for minutes under Christophe Galtier at PSG.
However, their contrasting styles offer very different forces, which could explain the Newcastle pivot.
Kolo Muani is a question of frankness. He excels in running behind, attacking the space and finishing with calm.
Its efficiency stands out, scoring 14 goals on an XG of 11.2, and it achieved a percentage of shooting on 44.6%, better than 39.7% of Ekitike.
While he played less minutes than Ekitike last season, he was a clear presence every time on the field.
On the other hand, Ekitike brings more creativity and finesse to the front line.
He scored 22 goals on an XG of 24.6, but also contributed strongly to the accumulation game: 17.2 assists finished by 90 in Muani of Muani, and a distance from progressive pass of 43.2 meters by 90 – much greater than that of Muani 27.5.
Ekitike has also published better figures in shooting actions (3.49 against 2.31), the sockets (1.89 against 1.51) and touches the third striker (20.6 against 16.0).
Ekitike is the most technical forward, while Kolo Muani is the more explosive attacker focused on the objectives.
This difference is crucial when seen through the objective of Newcastle style under Eddie Howe.
Indeed, Newcastle thrives on rhythm, power and transitions. They often seek to release wide players like Anthony Gordon and Jacob Murphy quickly and create a space centrally thanks to dynamic races.
Kolo Muani adapts well to this system. Its instinctive movement and its clinical edge offer a natural complement, even an alternative, to Isak, rather than a direct copy.
The aforementioned castles noted the stylistic overlap with Isak, saying: “This makes you ask you what is going on with Isak because of its similarities with Kolo Muani as a player.”
While Newcastle insists that Isak is not for sale, the interest in Muani suggests that Howe can seek someone who can be relieved the burden of his n ° 14, or perhaps even compete with him directly.
Above all, Kolo Muani can also be more feasible. At 44 million pounds sterling, it is much cheaper than Ekitike.
He would arrive from the back of a strong season to Juventus, described as “absolutely incredible” by analyst Zach Lowry, and has already shown that he could adapt to different systems and leagues.
Losing on Ekitike can sting, but in Kolo Muani, Newcastle could get an attacker who is not only more affordable but probably better suited to their tactical needs.
He may not be a comparable replacement, but he can be exactly the kind of signature that keeps Newcastle’s dynamics.
