While the creator Mike White preferred to remain tight-lipped about specific future plans for the series, he explained what viewers can expect.
“I dabbled in Buddhism and Thailand worked on the themes I was trying to address,” he said. The Hollywood Reporter in April 2025. “The show is about identity and desire — and then there’s another part of me, the playful gay part, that’s just like, ‘How can I make something dirty and funny?’ »
According to an interview that aired after the Season 3 finale, White said he was looking for a change, adding, “For the fourth season, I want to get away a little bit from the crashing waves against the vernacular rocks. But there’s always room for more murder in the White Lotus hotels.”

Where could season 4 take place?
Head of HBO Drama Series Francesca Orsi discussed the possibilities in February 2024, telling Deadline: “We’re going to explore some places in the next few weeks, so we’ll know soon. I can’t really say where we’ll land, but there’s a good chance somewhere in Europe.”
Orsi said there were “some countries on the map that we talked about, but nothing to report until they do some scouting.”
Meanwhile, White’s longtime producing partner David Bernard has denied rumors that season 4 will take place in a cooler location.
“Mike doesn’t like the cold,” Bernad said The Guardian in February 2025. Since all past seasons of The White Lotus were filmed at a Four Seasons resort, it would probably be a good idea to check out the hotel chain’s list of locations for possible inspiration for White.
It was later revealed that season 4 would be heading to France for the new season.
When does season 4 go into production?
Variety reported that production was “being considered for 2026” after the series was renewed for a fourth season.
Who will star in ‘The White Lotus’ season 4?
News broke in December 2025 that The hunger games alum Alexander Ludwig and former Disney Channel star Michalka too would appear in season 4 in then-undisclosed roles.
Which actors showed up for the series?

A better question might be who didn’t do it. In the past, Elizabeth Banks, Janelle James, Hayden Panettiere, James Marsden And Sheryl Lee Ralph all expressed interest in stopping at a Lotus Blanc. Jamie Lee Curtis, Bette Midler, Pamela Anderson And Jennifer Aniston also mentioned that they would be there for the show.
Could past characters return in future seasons?
While there have been a few instances of actors appearing across multiple seasons – including Coolidge and Rothwell – some White Lotus stars have expressed interest in bringing together other existing characters. (It helps that White has already appeared in a season of Survivor – and is set to return for more – so an “all-stars” season isn’t out of reach.)
Schwarzenegger provided an on-screen introduction between himself, Lacy and James. CEO of HBO Casey Bloys, during this time suggested that Shannon and Posey’s characters had a history.
Who isn’t coming back for season 4?

While season 3 was broadcast in April 2025, the composer of the series, Cristobal Tapia de Veerconfirmed to The New York Times that he won’t return after disagreements over the theme song. White, meanwhile, says The Hollywood Reporter that he did not think that Tapia de Veer “respected” him.
