Although the Chicago Cubs have locked their first place in the playoff series in five years last week, Pete Crow-Armstrong quickly insisted that his team was encouraged to put their best foot forward to finish the regular season.

Fresh out of the loss of five games of five games, the Cubs (89-69) will try to win the decisive competition of their three games against the New York Visit Mets (81-77) on Thursday evening.

Chicago wasted an advance of five points in a 9-7 setback on Tuesday before leaving another five-point advantage in a 10-3 game on Wednesday.

Crow-Armstrong provided the time of signature in this last competition, taking advantage of a mental period by the lift of the Clay Holmes dishes to mark the second base on wild land in the fifth round. Crow -Armstrong has referred to another athlete based in Chicago – the quarter of the Bears Caleb Williams – for his inspiration on the room.

“I was able to scan the ground as our Caleb boy does it. Yes, it was great,” Crow-Armstrong told Marquee Sports Network.

The Cubs have increased their advantage on the Padres of San Diego (87-72) to 2 1/2 games in the battle for the advantage of the field in the next series of rounds of jacons.

“The best part of our situation is that we still have a very big goal to shoot with these remaining four games,” Crow-Armstrong told ESPN. “There is no better place to play the sweater baseball than Wrigley Field.

“So we want this advantage in the field. These next four (games) certainly count.”

The last four competitions are also important for the dishes, which cling to an advance of a match on the Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds (both 80-78) for the last joker point in the National League. The Diamondbacks face the Los Angeles dodgers and the Reds face the Pittsburgh pirates on Thursday.

“You can’t worry about them,” said New York manager Carlos Mendoza. “We have not yet played well today; no matter what other teams do. It starts with us. We are better than that.”

Francisco Alvarez completed a two -point circuit for the second time in as many nights and Juan Soto went deep for a 43rd time in a team for New York, which has lost 12 of his last 17 games.

Francisco Lindor nixed the idea that the team’s first deficits negatively affect the team’s state of mind.

“Here, we are all in it together. We win together, we lose together. We go down early, we go down together,” said Lindor. “… In the end, everyone is trying to be the best version of themselves.”

The left-hander of the Cubs Shota Imanaga (9-7, 3.37 ERA) will start in the final of the series against the right-hander of Mets Nolan McLean (4-1, 1,27)

Imanaga had trouble keeping the ball in the park this season. He sold three circuits in his last outing and 10 in his last five trips to the mound.

IMANAGA, 32, gave three circuits in two career starts (10 rounds) against the food, going 1-1 with an MPM of 9.00

McLean, conversely, has granted a circuit in seven outings this season before his first career competition against Cubs. He saw his sequence without victory reaching three games, however, Saturday despite three points (a deserved) in five rounds against the Nationals of Washington, a defeat of 5-3 in 11 rounds.
