Wegmans chocolate candy recalled for unsuccessful milk allergens

The reminded non -paids went to Wegmans’ food market locations in eight states – Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Caroline, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginie – and Washington, DC, alerted the FDA Alert.

The bathtubs of the recalled candies have the codes of lot 55021, 55031, 55491, 55501, 56061 and 56071 on the side, with the best dates which vary according to the lot code, according to the alert and a reminder notice published on the website of the grocery chain.
Wegmans declared on his website that non-pareils assigned “could be returned to the Customer Service Office for a full refund”.

The absence of a warning on the “presence of milk” on the bathtubs of semi-succured non-scored non-peak “was caused by a temporary rupture in the supplier manufacturing process,” said Mellace Family Brands California in the FDA allergy alert.

Milk is one of the nine foods that the FDA considers “main food allergens”. Companies must label food products that have milk, eggs, fish, crustaceans, trees, peanuts, wheat, soybeans and sesame under the law, according to the FDA.
Eating reminded Wegmans candies could present a “risk of serious or potentially fatal allergic reaction” for people allergic to milk or sensitive, depending on the alert.
No one has fallen ill from the non-paid Wegmans to date.

Wegmans has more than 110 stores on the east coast in states, including New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginie, Maryland, Massachusetts, Caroline du Nord and Delaware, as well as in the Columbia district.
