“We could have easily won”

Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank praised Aston Villa for their moments of quality after coming from behind to beat the north London side 2-1.
Spurs took the lead within five minutes. Rodrigo Bentancur latched onto a header from Joao Palhinha to give his side a 1-0 lead.
But the Villans fought back to make it five straight wins in all competitions. First, Morgan Rogers produced a moment of magic as he beat Guglielmo Vicario from distance with a diving effort.
Then, in the second half, substitute Emiliano Buendia curled one into the bottom corner, completing the comeback.
Speaking after the match, Frank gave his assessment. He said: “It was exactly the game I expected, against two good teams, very close.
“There weren’t many chances. I think overall it could have gone either way. I think 1-1 would have been a fair result.
“Villa scored two goals from outside the box in moments where you wouldn’t expect them to score. Fair play to their moments of quality. We could have just as easily won.
“There were two great teams on the pitch. We started very well. Villa scored two goals from nothing and we had four or five moments where we couldn’t produce.
“If you had told me before the match that these players would be shooting from these positions, I would have said ‘happy days’.”
Spurs have now won just three of their last 18 home games, losing twice already in the Premier League under Frank.
