Indigo announces the confirmation of 30 additional companies orders for A350 of Airbus

Pieter Elbers, CEO of Indigo, announced confirmation of 30 additional orders for A350 of Airbus on June 1. The airline also shared a memorandum of understanding with Airbus in New Delhi for the same.

The agreement was announced at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) 81th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which takes place between June 1 and 3.

“At the end of the year, our 45 planes will have a stretch offer. It is not even the full fleet of certain airlines,” said Elbers.

Last year in April 2024, Indigo made the strategic decision to introduce planes to Widebody in his fleet by placing a firm order for 30 A350-900 planes, with purchasing rights for 70 additional planes. Deliveries of the original order should start in 2027.

The low-cost airline plans to extend its services to North America, Europe and the United Kingdom (Great Britain) by taking advantage of Delta Force in North America, Air France-KLM in Europe and North America, and the presence of Virgin Atlantic in the United Kingdom and transatlantic operations.
