Kohli’s focus remains on ODIs only
After announcing his retirement from T20Is following India’s World Cup victory and stepping away from Test cricket earlier this year, Kohli has now directed all his attention towards One Day Internationals (ODIs). The former Indian captain made it clear that the 50-over format remains his primary focus as he aims to guide the next generation of players while maintaining his world-class standards.
Kohli was last seen in action during India’s three-match ODI series in Australiawhich ended on October 25. Despite a shaky start – recording back-to-back ducks in the first two matches – the veteran batter showed his characteristic resilience in the final match at the Sydney Cricket Ground. There, he made a sublime unbeaten 74 from 87 balls, steering India to a commanding nine-wicket victory.
Although India ultimately lost the series 2-1, Kohli’s innings reminded fans of his ability to bounce back under pressure and his hunger for runs, even after 16 years of international cricket.
