Pollard also said that the incident was only a moment on the ground and did not affect their professional relationship with Kohli and Starc.
Kohli has not appeared in any competitive match since the 2025 IPL final for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The striker finished as a top scorer in RCB and helped the team secure his first IPL trophy. He scored 657 points in 15 rounds at an average of 54.75 and a striking rate of 144.71, including eight fifty.

Again, we have all these cases, and the way in which the Cricket franchise has also been caused, you have the opportunity to sit down with many of these guys and to inform them of a human level rather than a sporting level, when you come against them.”
“Once again, everything is fine, we played hard at that time. Most importantly, the Mumbai Indians won this match,” he added.
The Mumbai Indians won the match by 19 points while defending a target of 188. After the field alter, Pollard was sentenced to a fine of 75% of his match fees, while Starc received a fine of 50% for their involvement in the incident.
