Veteran filmmaker Chandra Barot, better known for making the emblematic film of 1978 Put on With Amicitabh Bachchan, died on July 20 at the age of 86. He was fighting pulmonary fibrosis for seven years and was admitted to Guru Nanak hospital. The news of his death was confirmed by his wife, Deepa Barot.
