Wimbledon champion, Iga Swiatek, quickly left for her attempt to win the big consecutive slams, while the seeded n ° 2 in Poland beat Colombia Emiliana Arango 6-1, 6-2 in an hour at US Open Tuesday in New York.

Swiatek rout Arango by winning 23 of its 26 points at the first service (88.5%) and by raising an advantage of 26-5 in the total of the winners. The champion of the Grand Colem six times has never faced Break Point.

“It was great – the first games are not easy to get used to the pace,” said Swiatek, according to The Guardian. “It was a solid match. I am happy not to try to master.”

Swiatek also broke a record of the era opened by Monica Seles, because she won her 65th opening match in a row. She has not lost during the opening round since the WTA 2021 final.

Swiatek, which won the US Open in 2022, climbed to No. 2 in the world classification this summer thanks to its first Wimbledon title and its WTA 1000 victory last week in Cincinnati.

Amanda Anisimova lost the Wimbledon final against Swiatek in a disastrous 0-6, 0-6. The eighth seeded this week in New York, the American launched her tournament with a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Kimberly Birrell in Australia.

“It is not easy to play in the first round of a big home,” said Anisimova. “I was nervous but I was just trying to have a little fun there. I am happy to be back.

“I lost in the first round last year, so I’m just happy that I do better than that time.”

The only seed players to be upset before the East Coast evening were the No. 20 Diana Shnaider from Russia and the No. 26 Sofia Kenin.

Laura Siegemund in Germany posted a 7-6 victory (3), 2-6, 6-3 against Shnaider while Ashlyn Krueger joined for a result of 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 against his American compatriot Kenin.
