US Open: Daniil Medvedev undergoes an open merger after the photographer enters the court on the match point in the Thriller at the end of the evening | Tennis news

Daniil Medvedev’s match was delayed for almost seven minutes after a photographer entered the court on the match point with the former US champion open by the decision of the chair referee to award his opponent a first service.
With Bonzi serving for the match-leading 6-3 7-5 5-4-A photographer entered the court.
“Please wait, not now,” said referee Greg Allensworth. “Get out of the field, please” before announcing that Bonzi would get another first service due to the delay.
“First service. Ladies and gentlemen, due to the delay caused by an interference on the side, the first service was granted,” said Allensworth.
A furious Medvedev then approached the chair to complain about the decision.
“Are you a man? Are you a man? Why are you going? What’s wrong, huh? The guys, he wants to leave. He is paid by the match and not on time,” said Medvedev in the camera that was positioned next to the chair referee.
Medvedev continued to encourage noisy hoots on Armstrong, which finally lasted so long that he then tried to bring the fans to calm down so that Bonzi could serve.
When Bonzi finally did it, he doubled. Medvedev won the match, then took the set in an equal break to extend the match.
However, the Frenchman finally sealed a 6-3 7-5 6-7 victory (5-7) 0-6 6-4 with a visibly emotional medvedev by disintegrating his racket against his chair while Bonzi celebrated.
The United States Tennis Association [USTA] Later, confirmed in a statement: “The photographer was escorted by the court by the security of the United States. His diploma was revoked for the US Open 2025.”
