Trump tells Musk a “train wreck” after the launch of the party

The friendship that has already seen Elon Musk serving in the White House is officially and explosive. In a long and personal tirade published on Truth Social on Sunday, President Donald Trump unloaded his former ally, expressing his deep disappointment and musk survey as an ungrateful and confused figure which went “completely ‘out of the rails”.

The catalyst for public condemnation was the launch by Musk of “The America Party”, a third -party movement aimed at disturbing the bipartite system. For Trump, it was not a political calculation but a slight staff of a man he felt that he had supported, even when he found his confusing actions.

“I am saddened to see Elon Musk go completely” out of the rails “, becoming essentially a train wreck in the past five weeks,” wrote Trump, framing the situation as a tragic fall rather than a simple disagreement of politics. The post reads as a complaint for a broken friendship, detailing a relationship that suggests that Trump has always been marked by his own confusion on Musk’s motivations.

The backdrop of this political divorce was the adoption of the “Big Beautiful Bill”, the legislation on the signature internal policy of Trump. After Musk, who briefly directed a working group on the effectiveness of the government for the administration, turned on the bill, the relationship has quickly grilled. But Trump’s post clearly indicates that he sees the opposition of Musk and the subsequent foundation of a new party rooted in something more personal and financial: the elimination by the bill of the mandate of the electric vehicle (EV).

“Unfortunately for Elon, this eliminates the ridiculous mandate of the electric vehicle (EV), which would have forced everyone to buy an electric car in a short period of time,” wrote Trump. He then detailed a private conversation that highlights his feeling of betrayal, saying it was shocked that Musk offered his approval while knowing Trump’s firm opposition to the mandate.

“I campaigned on this subject for two years and, honestly, when Elon gave me his total and undisputed approval, I asked him if he knew or not that I was going to put an end to the EV mandate,” said Trump. “He said he had no problem with that – I was very surprised!”

“One Big, Beautiful Bill” by Trump, which he signed on July 4, eliminates a tax relief of $ 7,500 for the purchase of a new EV and $ 4,000 for a used on September 30.

The anecdote paints musk not as a political adversary, but as an incoherent and perhaps dishonest partner. Trump continued this theme by sharing another story that underlines its perplexity with Musk’s judgment, this time involving a request to name a “close friend” to direct NASA.

“Elon asked that one of her close friends headed NASA and, while I thought her friend was very good, I was surprised to learn that he was a blue blood democrat, who had never contributed to a Republican before,” wrote Trump, expressing his astonishment. “I was also thinking inappropriate that a very close friend of Elon, who was in the space sector, manages NASA, when NASA is a large part of Elon’s business life.”

By sharing these moments behind the scenes, Trump launches like the faithful and coherent leader, blinded by the erratic behavior of a man he brought to his inner circle. The message is clear: the alliance is finished not because of a political flaw, but because, in Trump’s eyes, Musk turned out to be an unreliable and ungrateful actor. The “Bromance” formerly a one of the most powerful men in the world ended with a spectacular public wreck, the president himself, unfortunately examining the damage.
