Under the new law, social media companies and online platforms must remove this equipment within 48 hours of the victim’s opinion. The platforms must also take measures to delete double content.

Many states have already prohibited the depths and porn of Deepfakes and sexually revenge, but it will be the first time that federal regulators will have intervened to impose restrictions on Internet companies.

Defenders of freedom of expression and digital rights groups have raised concerns, claiming that the law is too wide and could lead to the censorship of legitimate images, such as legal pornography, as well as criticism from the government.
