Shami wins 4 irons, Sudharsan smashes hundred and Bishnoi fails ahead of IPL 2026 auction

The remaining matches, Super League and Final, will be played in Pune.
The seventh round of the matches in the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) was going to be crucial for 10 teams. Mumbai and Andhra from Group A, along with Jharkhand and Rajasthan from Group D, have already qualified for Super League, but the race was very much open in Groups B and C.
Shami takes 4-wicket haul, but Bengal falls
Mohammed Shami continued his rich vein of form against Haryana at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The pacer from Bengal took a 4-wicket haul but didn’t get any help from his teammates. Haryana beat them by 24 runs and qualified alongside Punjab from Group C, who beat Gujarat to seal the top spot.
Amit Passi’s smashes hundred on T20 debut
Amit Passi has broken the record for highest score on T20 debut. The wicketkeeper batter, who was replacing Jitesh Sharma, struck a 44-ball hundred and finished with 114 from 55. The previous record belonged to Bilal Asif. Although Baroda managed to beat Services, it wasn’t enough as Punjab and Haryana made it through.
Sai Sudharsan tons up
After scoring a fifty against Jharkhand, Sai Sudharsan has ended the 2025-26 season with an unbeaten match-winning hundred against Saurashtra. Chasing 184 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Sudharsan scored 101 (55)*, while the next best score was just 30.
Ravi Bishnoi’s middling season ends
Ravi Bishnoi, who’ll be one of the biggest draws at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction, has ended the season on a quiet note against Punjab. Although the leg spinner didn’t go for runs, he picked just 9 wickets in 7 matches for Gujarat. Bishnoi wasn’t even among the top 35 wicket-takers of the season.
