President Donald Trump said on Monday that he and his cabinet had met Intel The CEO LIP-BU TAN, a few days after calling the head of the flea manufacturer to resign. Intel shares have increased by 2% in prolonged exchanges.
“I met Mr. Lip-Bu Tan, of Intel, with the Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lungick, and the secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent,” wrote Trump in an article on Truth Social. “The meeting was very interesting. Its success and ascent are an incredible story. Mr. Tan and the members of my cabinet will spend time together and bring me suggestions for next week. Thank you for your attention to this case!”
An Intel spokesperson confirmed the meeting.
“Earlier in the day, Tan had the honor of meeting President Trump for a frank and constructive discussion on Intel’s commitment to strengthen American technology and the manufacture of leadership,” the spokesman wrote in an email.
Tan has been director of Intel since 2022 and, in March, he replaced Pat Gelsinger as CEO. Last week, Senator Tom Cotton, R-Ark., Interrogated Tan’s ties with China. Cotton raised a previous criminal case involving the conception of cadence, where Tan had been CEO, and asked if Intel demanded that Tan are deposited posts in the manufacturers of chinese communist party, the popular liberation army and any other entities concerning China.
Trump’s latest message marks a change of tone from last week. In a social article of truth on Thursday, the president wrote that Tan “is very conflict and must resign, immediately. There is no other solution to this problem”.
Intel said in a comment later in the day that the company, the administrators and the TAN are “deeply determined to advance American national and economic interests”.
The Trump administration has taken a helping hand in the business world, especially in the semiconductor market, while the United States is fighting with China for supremacy in artificial intelligence. During the weekend, NVIDIA agreed to pay the federal government a decrease of 15% in exchange for the reception of export control licenses which will allow it to sell its china china and Chinese companies again. Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, visited Trump in the White House on Friday.
President Trump said on Monday that he initially asked Nvidia a 20% reduction in flea manufacturer in China, but the number fell to 15% after Huang negotiated with him.

Tan, 65 Nvidia Domina, while burning money to build his foundry activity for the manufacture of fleas.
Tan was born in Malaysia and grew up in Singapore before moving to the United States and receiving a mastery of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He said at the end of July that his first months as CEO of Intel had not been easy, with layoffs and cuts to the foundry division.
Intel has canceled the plans for manufacturing sites in Germany and Poland and would slow down development in Ohio, he told employees.
“Return the business will take time and require patience,” Tan said at a conference call with analysts in July. “We have a lot to resolve to advance the business.”
Intel shares increased 3% this year at the end of Monday. The S&P 500 is up 8.4%.
