An official of the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that the Trump administration planned to expel around 400 Iranians.

An Iranian official said that the United States plan to expel hundreds of Iranian citizens in the coming weeks, the first 120 deportees are expected to arrive in Iran in a few days, while US President Donald Trump continues his repression of immigration.

Hossein Noushabadi, director general of parliamentary and consular affairs of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the Tasnim news agency on Tuesday that the US immigration authorities planned to expel around 400 Iranians.

An American mapping flight took off from Louisiana on Monday and was to arrive on Tuesday in Qatar, so that the deportees can be transferred to a flight to Tehran, said an American official.

The White House and the US State Department did not immediately respond to requests from the Reuters news agency to comment.

Since his return to functions in January, Trump has decided to expel a record number of people living in the United States.

However, his administration has struggled to increase the levels of deportation, even if he has created new paths to send migrants to countries other than their own.

In February, the United States expelled 119 people from different countries, including Iran, in Panama as part of an agreement between the two nations.
