“Touchdown in Tokyo” – Jakob Ingebrtsen shares the update after his arrival for the 2025 world athletics championships

Jakob Ingebrigtsen recently shared an update before the 2025 world athletics championships. He was chosen in the Norway world championship team during the 1500m and 5000m events.

Until now during the 2025 season, Ingebrigtsen has not yet presented in an outdoor competition, having missed many events due to an Achilles injury which put it aside earlier in the year. His best achievements this season won two gold medals at the world indoor world championships.

In the previous world championships in which he participated, the Norwegian won two gold medals in 5000m and two silver medals at the 1500m event. Before his participation in the 2025 world championships, Jakob Ingebrigtsen shared an update with his fans and subscribers after his arrival in Tokyo via an Instagram post, writing:

“Touchdown in Tokyo 🇯🇵🏟️ what kind of content behind the scenes of the world champions would you like to see? 👇”

While sharing his arrival with fans, Jakob Ingebrigtsen also asked for recommendations on the behind the scenes they would like to see of the event, which he plans to publish on his YouTube channel. He has already shared content on the treatment of losses, his altitude training sessions, among other subjects on Youtube.

Although INGEBRIGRSEN has not yet opened its outdoor campaign, there is a medal perspective during the competition. Another leading Norwegian athlete to look at during the world event is the world record holder of 400m hedges karsten warholm.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen has teamed up with his brothers to launch a road race, named Runfest, which will hold its first edition in 2026. The event will showcase the intermediate and leisure elite runners, with distances of 1500m, 5 km, 10 km and 21 km.

Announcing the race, Igebrigtsen shared his excitement, declaring:

“It’s a dream that my brothers and I have had for a long time. Runfest should be a celebration of the joy of running, both for young and old. It will be a street festival and a community festival where the best runners in the world are part of the show, but where everyone can participate, both recreational runners and those who have a lot of experience. ”

He also thought about how the event would serve as a way to restore this sport, expressing his hope that he would gain international recognition and inspire more people to get into the race. Race registration will open on September 26, 2025.
