Tottenham should sign Joao Palhinha in permanent moving

Tottenham Hotspur seems to plan important cases in the next winter transfer window, with an increasingly likely agreement, transforming the loan of Joao Palhinha into a permanent decision.

Thomas Frank’s team has signed the former Fulham midfielder from Bayern Munich this summer in a loan move and since his move from the Bundesliga, where he fought for playing time, the Portuguese midfielder impressed for the Spurs.

In five Premier League matches this season, Palhinha scored a goal but more than his goal contribution, his ability to make stability in the midfield and add wonders for the club in northern London.

Tottenham took place to open discussions for Joao Palminha

According to TBR Football, Tottenham decided to open discussions on a permanent decision for Palhinha in the January transfer window.

Since he joined the Spurs, Palhinha has been one of the most coherent artists in the midfield.

Spurs believe that Palhinha corresponds exactly to what they needed, a combative and disciplined anchor in the midfield which can provide both defensive coverage and intelligence in possession.

Another big advantage for Tottenham is the relatively modest cost. The loan agreement already includes an option to buy Palhinha for 26 million pounds sterling, negotiations on the transfers market today, in particular compared to the prices of similar profiles.

There is also a feeling that Bayern Munich could be willing to listen to offers as soon as possible. Given the limited playing time from Palhinha to Bayern and the depth of the competition there, the player’s preference could be to continue in a place where he is faithful and regular.

Spurs are in a strong position, they have already benefited from its presence, know how it fits into the Frank system, and there is a clear financial mechanism (the purchase option) which could be triggered earlier.
