Tom Cruise delivers heartfelt speech at 2025 Governor Awards

Tom Cruise recently gave a heartfelt speech as he received an honorary Oscar at the 2025 Governors Awards on November 16.
THE Mission: Impossible The star was introduced by Alejandro G Inarritu, who is directing Tom in an unnamed film due for release next year.
After accepting the award, Tom becomes emotional and talks about his lifelong passion for cinema.
“Making films is not what I do, it’s who I am,” says the 63-year-old. Variety.
Top Gun The actor revealed that cinema takes him around the world.
“It helps me appreciate and respect differences. It also shows me our common humanity how we are similar in many ways,” says Tom.
Jack Reacher The actor emphasizes that no matter “where we come from, in this theater we laugh, we feel together, we hope together, we dream again, and that is the power of this art form. Therefore, it is important and that is why it matters to me.”
Interestingly, Tom also talks about his love for cinema which started at a young age.
“My love for cinema started very young, as far back as I can remember,” remarks the Jerry Maguire actor.
“I was just a little kid in a dark theater, and I remember this beam of light coming across the room, and I remember looking up, and it seemed to explode on the screen. Suddenly the world was so much bigger than the one I knew,” mentions the four-time Oscar nominee.
Tom continues: “Cultures, lives, and entire landscapes all unfolded before me, and it sparked something. »
The Mummy The actor shares that it “sparked a thirst for adventure, a thirst for knowledge, a thirst to understand humanity, to create characters, to tell a story, to see the world.”
“It opened my imagination to the possibility that life could extend far beyond the limits I then perceived in my own life,” he concludes.
