Tiktok adds features for songwriters to its application

Tiktok adds new features to its application to allow the songwriters to highlight their works. These features, in beta deployment, include a “composer” label and a new tab on their profile to show their musical works. This can help songwriters marketing better for potential customers.
The company said that a limited number of publication partners and songwriters have access to the new label and the musical highlight section. The songwriters and publishers who wish to be part of the program will have to join a waiting list for the moment.
Tiktok said that he had questioned more than 870 songwriters and interviewed a pile to understand their needs on social networks in relation to profile construction and the creation of monetization opportunities. The company also underlined an independent survey, which said that more than half of the songwriters use social media to enhance their profile use Tiktok to do so. The applications belonging to Bytedance said that the result of these surveys led the decision to build these features.

While Tiktok decided to close its Tiktok Music music streaming service last year, the platform remains important for users to discover new music and for artists to promote their songs. Earlier this year, the company has published a Tiktok for artists tool to allow artists to monitor the performance of their campaign and their tracks.
