A bit like Half-life: AlyxThe long-awaited return of Thief is a VR exclusive. The game was announced back in June, but we now know when it will arrive. You can play the new chapter of the pioneering undercover franchise, Thief VR: Legacy of Shadowon December 4.
VR Thief takes place halfway between the events of the original trilogy and Thief (2014). You play as Magpie, a cunning thief (duh), who discovers a legendary eye artifact with a mysterious connection to the past. You operate in a city under the influence of Baron Ulysses Northcrest, “a tyrant who crushes rebellion before it can take root.” This all sounds like a perfect backdrop for sneaking around and stealing shit.
Publisher Vertigo Games has offered a preview of Meta Quest’s gameplay, which you can watch below. VR Thief will also be available on PS VR and SteamVR when it arrives on December 4. The title has a list price of $30 on Steam and Meta, but can be pre-ordered now for $27. The PlayStation Store version does not yet contain pricing or reservation information.
