Car sales fell 10% in April, up 32% in 10mfy25

Karachi: Sales of tourist cars in the country (PAMA members) decreased by 10% in annual shift (Yoy) in April 2025. Sales also dropped on a monthly basis (MOM). However, 10mfy25 sales remained solid.
According to data published by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), private car sales decreased by 10% in April 2025 to 8,004 units against 8,873 units in April 2024. During the ten months of financial year 25, a total of 83.269 units were sold, up 32% against 62.964 Fy24.Analst-Blow, however, road closings in the Sindh in the middle of a protest against the canals slowed down sales.
On a mom’s basis, sales in April 2025 remained 1.5% lower than 8,004 units, compared to 8,130 units sold in March 2025. In this period, sales of 1300 cm3 and more were recorded at 5,175 units, up 61% compared to the same month of sales of 3,212 units of the previous year.
In April 2025, 1,000 cm3 cars recorded sales of 230 units (146 units from Suzuki Cultus and 84 units from Suzuki Wagonr) against 638 units in the same month last year. Bélion of 1,000 CC recorded a sale of 2,599 units, less than 48% against 5.023 units from last year.
For the second consecutive month, Honri-Ve de Dewan did not record any sale. The sale of jeeps and vans increased to 2,592 units of 1,642 units sold during the same period last year.
Sales of bicycles and ripens increased by 26% in annual shift and 6.0% of mom totaling at 135,721 units in April 2025. “Higher sales in this segment are attributed to the improvement of people to improve people in the middle of lower inflation, we think,” said Myesha Sohail, research analyst at Topline Securies. This takes sales from 10 MFY25 to 1.2 million units, an increase of 30% in annual sliding. “The total tractors industry has recorded sales of 1,602 units, a 48% drop in annual shift while 4.0% of mom.
Truck and bus sales in April increased 127% in annual shift and 13% mom, reaching 520 units. This makes sales from 10 MFY25 to 3,885 units and an increase of 85% of 2,098 units in 10 MFY24.
Mashood Ali Khan, former president of Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM), said that the automotive sector showed signs of recovery in a drop in inflation and interest rates. “The current positive momentum should continue until June, after which the federal budget can have an impact on the performance of the sector,” he said.
According to Myesha Sohail, Mom’s decline was mainly due to the closure of the roads in Sindh, which delayed deliveries and therefore a drop in sales. Maintenance growth is supported by a more stable macroeconomic environment, a drop in interest rates, an attenuation of inflation and an improvement in consumers’ feeling. In addition, launching new models and introductions of variants played an important role in the attraction of demand.
Sige Sige: Sazgar Engineering (Sazew) recorded the highest decline in mom in April 2025, sales decreasing by 42% to 549 units, largely due to a 10 -day strike that disrupted production. Sales from one year to the next have been largely unchanged. Cumulatively, sales of 10 MFY25 increased 130% in annual sliding to 8,576 units, against 3,723 units in 10 MFY24, driven by the growing acceptance of the Haval brand. Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) posted a 12% drop in mom and 33% in annual shift to 4,003 units in April, while Honda Atlas Cars (HCAR) saw the highest mom and succession of 20% and 70% respectively, reaching 1,707 units.
Industry Motor Company (INDU) recorded an increase of 58% in annual sliding and 4.0% of mom while Hyundai Nishat saw an increase of 9.0% in annual sliding while a mother of 5.0% falls.
