The revolution signs a local man, Cristiano Oliveira, 17

The New England Revolution signed 17-year-old midfielder Cristiano Oliveira as a homegrown player on Wednesday.
The Massachusetts native is under contract through December 2029 with an option through December 2030.
Oliveira has recorded five goals and three assists in 35 matches during the 2024-25 seasons with Revolution II. He made his first-team debut last May at the US Open Cup and scored the winning goal in a 2-1 win over Rhode Island FC.
“Cristiano Oliveira is a hard-working young man from an incredible family, and his story is a shining example of what our professional playing journey is all about,” Revs athletic director Curt Onalfo said.
“We believe he has a high ceiling and we are ready to invest all our resources to help him reach his full potential and become a standout player for our team. We look forward to working with Cristiano,” added head coach Marko Mitrovic.
The Revs open the 2026 MLS season on February 21 at Nashville SC.
