The peace transactions of the Middle East survive the attacks of Hamas, develop under Trump

Five years ago this week ago, the story was made on the southern lawn of the White House when Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed the Abraham agreements. What many had long rejected as an impossible dream has become an undeniable reality: the Arab nations publicly embracing peace with Israel not as the by-product of endless negotiations, but following American leadership.
I had the great privilege of working alongside President Donald Trump to make this day possible. Abraham’s agreements were not a naive vows or illusions accident.
They were born out of a policy deeply rooted in reality: this force is the safest guarantor of peace, that America must be shamelessly standing with Israel, and that the Arab neighbors of Israel, with good encouragement, could find a common cause with the Jewish State.

Five years later, their impact is undoubtedly. The agreements have preserved peace among the signatory nations, which now include Morocco and Sudan, even through some of the darkest days in the modern history of Israel.
Trump’s historic agreement is the real key to peace in the Middle East
When Hamas launched the barbaric terrorist attacks of October 7, 2023, plunging Israel at the war open against Gaza controlled by Hamas, many feared that young partnerships collapse. Instead, ambassadors stayed in Israel, governments maintained links and trade continued. In a region where alliances are often ephemeral, this resilience is itself historic.
And peace has been fruitful. Trade between Israel and its new partners has increased in billions.
The joint commercial companies create not only jobs, but knitting companies together in a way that little imagined. Direct flights now link Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Manama.
Israeli tourists are now on vacation in land where the Jews were forced to flee a few decades ago. These human connections make future conflicts much less likely and the sustainable stability more feasible. History reminds us that the nations that thrive together rarely go to war with each other.
With friends like these pushing to dismantle the peace agreement in the Middle East of Trump, who needs enemies?
These achievements are even more remarkable since the Biden-Harris administration has done practically nothing to extend the circle of peace of agreements. In fact, the previous administration prioritized concessions to malicious actors. The result is a peace that has endured but also stagnated, with unexploited potential to reshape the Middle East for good.
Now America has another chance of regaining the momentum for peace that President Trump created during his first mandate, and the administration should make the agreements of foreign policy priority. The United States should reaffirm our commitment to reverse the security of Israel and our promise that any nation that seeks a partnership with Israel will also find that America will also be a voluntary partner. In particular, the entry of Saudi Arabia into the agreements would be a giant step forward.

The normalization of Riyadh’s relations with Jerusalem would end the long isolation of the Jewish state in the Arab world, inaugurating a new era of security, cooperation and economic growth which would bless the region for future generations.
The Abraham agreements have already written a new chapter in the history of the Middle East. They have proven that true peace does not come from the appeasement of terrorism, but from the union with the courage to oppose it.

While we commemorate their fifth anniversary, America must not only preserve what has been achieved, but also extend the circle of peace until it understands all those who aspire to a future built on hope rather than on hatred.
The dream of a Middle East defined by peace and prosperity is closer today than in any time of living memory. With a strong leadership of the Trump administration, it can still become a lasting reality.
