“Alien: Earth” is an interesting expansion of the “Alien” franchise. It is a television show that has already given us a fantastic remake of the original “Alien” film in its first five episodes, in addition to tribute the strangest film of the property with a wink “Alien: Resurrection”. At the same time, it is doing things that we have never seen this franchise before, as the introduction of an extraterrestrial which even the xenomorph is afraid.
Without a doubt, however, the objective of “Alien: Earth”, and the place where it is the most synchronized with the themes not only of the original “Alien” cinematographic grid, but also the two prequel films by Sir Ridley Scott, is the approach of the synthetic series. You see, the biggest addition of the program to the tradition of the “Alien” franchise so far has been the introduction of cyborgs (that is to say humans with cybernetic increases) and hybrids (synthetic body with human consciences downloaded in them). While cyborgs have been a must for science fiction for decades, it is the hybrids and the fact that they are essentially children in the adult body, which fly the spectacle – even if we are a little bored by the functioning of technology.
This does not mean that the cyborgs of the show are not cool, because perhaps the best character of “Alien: Earth” is also a cyborg – Morrow de Babou Cesesay, the former security director of the USCSS Maginot, who can draw the blades between his fingers as he is Wolverine. Until now, it has been somehow the equivalent “Alien: Earth” of the T-1000 of “Terminator 2”, that is to say a cold and cold machine for a singular purpose of bringing the extraterrestrial specimens of Maginot to his boss without anything else. In the fifth episode of the series, however, he obtained a tragic background that changes everything, especially because she includes the real girl of Ceesay.
Speaking with Variety, Cesesay spoke of the flashback scene in “Alien: Earth” Episode 5 “, in space, nobody …”, in which Morrow spends time with his daughter. As the actor explained, it really touched a sensitive string with him when he learned that his character had a daughter who died horrible death:
“The actress playing my daughter is my real girl. We shoot and they were looking for someone to play my daughter, and my daughter was there [in Thailand] With me, I go to school, with my son and my wife.
