New York mayor Eric Adams said on Sunday that he would abandon his candidacy for re-election after losing ground against Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani, self-written socialist. Adams, 65, formerly popular, was weakened by corruption probes and criticism of his cooperation with the repression of Donald Trump’s immigration.
