The investigation into the death of Matthew Perry takes a new round in court

The tragic death of Matthew Perry in October 2023 was caused by an overdose of ketamine and his doctor was accused of having provided the actor with the dose.
After a long investigation, Dr. Salvador Plasencia has now pleaded guilty to four charges of ketamine which led to the Friends The disappearance of the star.
Plasencia pleaded in a federal courthouse on Wednesday, July 23, as reported NBC News.
The judge ruled that Plasencia will remain free of bond until December 3, when his condemnation hearing will be provided.
The doctor can incur up to 40 years in prison and three years of supervised release as well as a fine of at least $ 2 million, in accordance with his prosecutors.
Plasencia published a statement to the media saying that he voluntarily abandoned his medical license, “recognizing his failure to protect Mr. Perry, a particularly vulnerable patient because of dependence.”
The press release continued: “Dr. Plasencia is deeply full of remorse for the treatment decisions he has taken while providing Ketamine to Matthew Perry.”
The doctor was arrested in August 2024 and charged alongside four other people in the death of the actor and the actor, including the assistant of Perry, Kenneth Iwamasa, and a knowledge of Perry.
