The injury to Henry Cavill pushed the Highlander ‘remake in 2026

Henry Cavill hit an unexpected roadblock just when he was preparing to run one of the greatest restarts in Hollywood.

The actor, better known for “Superman” and “The Witcher”, was injured during training for the remake “Highlander”. The injury is serious enough for the shooting to be postponed until 2026.

Fans who were delighted to see Cavill pick up the sword while the new Connor Macleod will now have to wait longer than expected.

According to DeadlineHenry Cavill was injured in training for the physically demanding role in “Highlander”, directed by filmmaker “John Wick” Chad Stahelski.

Although no details on the nature of the injury has been released, it is serious enough to stop production for the rest of the year.

Sources close to the project say that the cameras are unlikely to drive until the beginning of 2026.

The 42 -year -old star had trained hard for months to play MacLeod, the Scottish warrior who can only die if his head is cut.

The role was made famous for the first time by Christopher Lambert in the original film of 1986.

Cavill had teased his return to the sword earlier this year. “If you thought you had seen me do sword work before, you haven’t seen anything yet,” he said by the Daily mailReferring to his fighting role in “The Witcher”.

The film has an enormous distribution, notably Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Dave Bautista and Marisa Abela.
