So, after a lucky escape at Manchester, Shubman Gill’s team will be a happy unit. But then, the Oval Test is only a couple of days away and there is no time to rest. As reported by RevSportz, the Indian side has left for London on Monday evening, in a train, and will reach the venue for the fifth Test, in approximately couple of hours.

That said, the team would waste no time, and get to practice from Tuesday onwards, at 2 PM IST. As tweeted by RevSportz Global, this will be an optional practice session for players, while the training session on Wednesday will be compulsory for all players. That would take place at around 5 PM IST.

Meanwhile, the IND vs ENG fifth Test is set to begin on July 31, with the series poised at 1-2. If Team India manage to secure in London, they will retain the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy, since they had beaten England at home in 2024. In fact, this would be the second series on the trot, where England fail to win it — the 2021 series ended in a 2-2.

But then there is a lot to work upon, for India. Firstly, they need to get their selection right. They have till now, ignored Kuldeep Yadav, who is an out-an-out wicket-taking option. With Jasprit Bumrah unlikely to play in the Test, the wrist-spinner becomes a must for the team.

Another challenge would be to get a new-look pace attack. Mohammed Siraj has played four Tests, and didn’t just look in the best of rhythm in the Manchester clash. After having bowled 140 overs in the series, his body needs some rest too. If these changes are incorporated, then India’s attack could be led by Akash Deep, followed by Prasidh Krishna, and then Arshdeep Singh.
