Brittany Force’s father and the funny car legend John Force revealed that he was nervous after adding a new national record. The two -hour fuel champion timed a top speed of the NHRA entirely time of 343.16 MPH in qualifying at the NHRA Sonoma Nationals.
The team owner and champion of the car funny 16 times, John, later admitted that he felt anxious when she drew this point.
“Makes me a little nervous. The girl did it,” said John.
In Sonoma Raceway, Brittany Force finished the race with a pass of 3.645 seconds to 1,000 feet and recorded 304.94 MPH in the eighth thousand. Earlier this month, Brittany also reset his own NHRA top speed record in Seattle, where she posted 341.85 MPH in the semi-finals. This brand overshadowed its previous 341.5 MPH record in Charlotte in April and its previous top speed of 341.42 MPH in Epping in early June.
With the race of 343.16 MPH, Brittany now contains nine of the 10 best speed of the fastest higher fuel in the NHRA.

Brittany Force joined Top Fuel in 2013 as first entry John Force Racing (JFR) in this class. Her father founded JFR in 1990 and built one of the most successful dredging teams in the NHRA. As a driver owner, John holds 157 Funny Car Victories of the NHRA, 16 NHRA championships and an AHRA title.
Brittany was the first pilot to win a championship for JFR in a classification in the upper fuel category. She won her first professional victory in 2016 at the Gortuninals in Florida and won two world titles (2017 and 2022). She became the second woman to win a high -level fuel championship after Shirley Moldowney in 1982.
This Friday, Brittany’s qualification performance for the second consecutive week gave him the No. 1 departure post for the 37th NHRA Sonoma Nationals on Sunday. The 39 year olds shared her appreciation for her team and explained how she thought that the 343 MPH was a joke.
“I have to credit (team leaders) David Grubnic and John Collins and the whole team. I’m so proud of them. It’s incredible,” said Brittany Force.
“During this race, he moved a little, and I thought of removing my foot for a second, then I said:” No, I can get it. “I heard nothing on my radio, then they repeated the speed 343, and I thought they were joking.
Nitro Round 1 eliminations for the best fuel and the funny car should start at 10:30 am on July 27.
