The founder of Barstool Portnoy collects funds for the family of the NYPD officer Islam

Police respond to information reporting an active shooter in a Midtown Manhattan skyscraper housing Blackstone and the NFL seat.
The founder of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, launched a fundraising campaign in honor of the NYPD officer Didarul Islam, who was killed by Shane Tamura during a mass shooting in the Midtown Manhattan on Monday evening.
The Islam officer sat for police forces for four years. He was the father of two children, with a third child on the way.
Portnoy shared a sincere message on social networks, committing to correspond to all the benefits earned by the Back the Blue Barsool and donate funds to the family of Islam.
In tribute, the name and the Islam district were added to the right round of clothes.

“Another tragic story that strikes very close to her house,” wrote Portnoy in an article on X, promoting clothes.
“It is never good to have these charities, but the officer Didarul Islam leaves behind 2 boys and an 8-month pregnant woman. I will partially make all the profits that we make this week and make a donation directly to the family,” he continued.
The authorities identified the shooter as Shane Tamura, 27, an approved private investigator of Las Vegas with aspirations spent in professional football. According to the police, Tamura entered 345 Park avenue armed with an M4 style rifle and opened fire, finally heading to the offices of the 33rd floor of Rudin Management before committing suicide.

Mayor Eric Adams confirmed on Tuesday that Tamura intended to target the NFL headquarters, but wrongly went to another elevator bench in the building.
The Barstool office is located in the Chelsea district of Manhattan, nearly 28th Street and Seventh avenue, about 20 houses west of the shooting site at 345 Park avenue.
“This tragedy is particularly hitting near her her house,” said Portnoy. “Barstool’s head office is in New York, and the attack occurred in the same building where Brady 4 has once organized a demonstration.”
Portnoy noted that the attack site had a personal meaning for him – it was the same building where he and three colleagues staged a protest against the suspension of Tom Brady in 2015.
Earlier this year, Portnoy published a video marking the 10th anniversary of the event, including images of a security guard during the demonstration.

Although the death of agent Islam is the last tragedy to strike the NYPD, it is not the first time that Portnoy has mobilized the follow -up of Barstool in response to such a loss.
In 2024, the company collected about $ 240,000 for the NYPD officer Jonathan Diller, who was killed during a routine traffic stop in Queens. This campaign echoes the continuous support of Portnoy to the police and its belief in the collection of funds backed by the community.
Officer Diller, 31, left a young widow, Stephanie, and a one -year -old son.
“Okay, I’m sure everyone has seen history,” said Portnoy in a video published on their accounts X and Tiktok. “Tragic. The New York City Cop, Jonathan Diller, which was murdered. The stop of routine traffic, withdrew two guys, a million priors, entered and out of prison a million times and they simply opened fire on him, essentially. “”

The police arrested the suspect who killed Diller, Guy Rivera, 34, who confirmed that the officials had more than 20 previous arrests, mainly for drugs of drugs and violence.
“I know that money does not heal this,” added Portnoy. “Nothing can cure this, but that’s the least we can do and Barstool, myself, we have a long story supporting the cops, supporting boys in blue, supporting the first stakeholders. You know, it’s tragic. These guys come out, risk their lives. It’s just horrible so everything we can do to support it.”
