On Friday, the European powers ended the “humanitarian disaster” in Gaza while the United Nations food agency warned that almost a third of the inhabitants of the Palestinian territory torn by the war did not eat for days. The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also criticized “the indifference and inaction” of the international community to a generalized famine in the enclave, calling it a “moral crisis which calls into question global conscience”.
