The CMS administrator, Dr. Mehmet Oz, reveals how the Trump administration plans to reorganize Medicare and Medicaid during an appearance “Mornings with Maria”.
The administrator of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Dr. Mehmet Oz, is the spearhead of a surprising change in the way Medicare and Medicaid are managed – which, according to him, could save the hundreds of billions of American dollars.
Appearing on “Mornings With Maria”, the former television host and heart surgeon described what he called a “generation opportunity” to reform Medicaid.

“I believe that we are going to increase Medicaid spending,” said Dr. Oz on Tuesday at the World Conference of the Milken Institute 2025. “This may not increase as much as it normally increased, but I think we have a unique opportunity … because what the president wants to do is align everyone.”
Dr. Oz stressed that the system is currently unhealthy the funds. He argued that Medicare and Medicaid pour the “bad people” with the bad sums of money.
“In Medicaid, we have a problem. We do not finance the program as it was originally envisaged, because we do so much to valid people.”

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo pressed Dr. Oz, asking her to detail how he plans to cut the fat in Medicaid without “touching the muscle”.
“There is a lot of systematic waste,” continued Dr. Oz. “There are about a billion dollars, at least, that we believe – potentially even up to $ 10 billion, if we do things correctly, people who are on Medicaid in more than one state. Now, why would that happen?”

Dr. Oz concluded by saying that the Trump administration will continue to highlight the points of “waste, fraud and abuse” in the country’s Medicaid programs.
As an administrator of the CMS, Dr. Oz says that his mission is to identify and close these ineffectures while preserving care for those who really need them.
“We have dozens of billions of waste, fraud and abuse. But if we reset it and make the system more effective by identifying these problems, we have hundreds of billions of dollars in potential profits by improving the system for Americans. I have to give you a concrete reality,” he continued.
