The browser wars are back, and this time it’s powered by AI

The browser wars are heating up again, this time with AI in charge.

OpenAI has just launched Atlas, a ChatGPT-based browser that lets users surf the web in natural language, and even includes an “agent mode” that can perform tasks autonomously. Watch Max Zeff, Anthony Ha, and Sean O’Kane detail the early days of Atlas, the broader wave of alternative browsers, the AWS crash that broke much of the Internet, and other tech and startup news of the week on TechCrunch’s Equity podcast.
