The best films of summer 2025

After years of summer disappointments, the summer of 2025 will almost certainly be one of the best cinema summers of the decade. Now that children go back to school, it’s time to take stock of how good it was.

If there was a coherent theme which made the cropping of films of this summer so observable, it was a dedication to return to the essentials. The best films focused on telling the story of simple stories and telling them perfectly.

These are the best films of the Golden Summer of 2025.

1 and 1 F1 Was the best film in summer 2025

F1 is beautiful in its simplicity. He tells a simple story about a simple character, and does it perfectly, motivated by a fantastic soundtrack, without wasting a single film frame.

He features Brad Pitt as a heated racing car driver named Sonny Hayes. He is confident, intelligent and about everything. People make fun of him, attack him and blame him for their problems. Sonny Hayes doesn’t care. He knows he is right, so he smiles and continues to do so. That works. He wins. It’s the film.

Everything that was released in summer is not a big noisy blockbuster, and this film, based on a story by Stephen King, was the best quieter entry of the summer of 2025.

Chuck’s life tells three connected stories. In one, the world seems to run slowly, and no one knows why. In another, a man dances. In the third, there is a mysterious piece.

I have probably already said. The less you know, the better. Just make a point to watch Chuck’s life With someone who doesn’t mind that you cry.

5 The bad guys 2 Was the best children’s film in the summer of 2025

Wick 2 is better than the first Bad Guys In almost all directions. It is a wild animated adventure with its own sense of style and momentum constantly, Located on one of the best soundtracks of the year.

Each film frame is filled with something exciting and pleasure. He never stops moving and creating. None of the time of the public is wasted.

I do not suggest here that this is the kind of film that adults should look for, childless. You would need someone under 12 with you to take advantage of what The bad guys 2 has to offer. But if you saw it, no matter your age, you had to take advantage of this Turbo cartoon ride.

In a shocking turn, almost all the films released this summer, with the exception of the one with dinosaurs, was good.

The only summer film 2025 that I missed that could have been a competitor for this best ranking is WeaponsA horror film released at the end of the summer. Most seem to agree, it is fantastic, including Drew Dietsch from GFR. It almost certainly belongs to this list as the best horror film in summer 2025. I hope to see it soon.
