Carlos Narvaez came with a single single, two points and Trevor Story struck a Home Run to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 6-4 victory against the Cleveland Guardians visiting a three-game series on Monday.
It was a 3-3 match until Narvaez delivers his simple pinch with the bases loaded in the fifth round. Nate Eaton and Rob Refsnyder marked the game.
The Story’s circuit stroke traveled 306 feet, and was originally deemed a ball infection when it came out of the right defender Jhonkensy Noel and fell into the crowd. The Red Sox challenged, and it was judged that the ball struck the pole for lack when it came out of the Christmas glove.
It was the 23rd Story Tircuit for the season and extended Boston’s advance at 6-3 in sixth round. He succeeded three of the 14 strokes of Boston.
Brayan Bello (11-6) granted three points on six strokes in five rounds to win the victory. He withdrew four and walked three. Aroldis Chapman launched a ninth aimless to recover his 28th judgment.
Refsnyder, Eaton, Romy Gonzalez and Roman Anthony each had two strokes for Boston.
Kyle Manzardo struck a home run for Cleveland, who received three blows from Steven Kwan.
Erik Sabrowski (0-1) took the defeat after abandoning two points over two strokes and walked two in a third of a round.
Parker Messick took the start for the Guardians and was scored for three points on nine strokes in 3 2/3 rounds, walking two and removing two.
The Red Sox led 2-0 after a round. Anthony advanced the third on a Messick Balk, then Alex Bregman scored on a Gonzalez single.
The Guardians took an advance of 3-2 by scoring three points in the second. After a single of CJ Kayfus led to Josh Naylor, the single of two points by Brayan Rocchio allowed Nolan Jones and George Valera to score.
Connor Wong scored on the Story single at the bottom of the second to do it 3-3.
After the Red Sox took an advance of 6-3, the 24th Circuit of Manzardo reduced the Cleveland deficit to 6-4 in the eighth.
