With the controversy swirling around the donation of Qatar from a jet of several million dollars to the Trump administration, that raises the question: what is the difference between this Jumbo Boeing 747 and the existing Air Force?

The main differences include the type of plane, age and technology, cost, size, interior design and travel purposes. Fox Business breaks down the details below.

Plane type

The current Air Force One (two) planes in which President Donald Trump fly are military versions of the 747-200B of Boeing, known as VC-25A.

The 747-8i gifted by Qatar was built in 2012 and uses modern engines and fuel efficiency characteristics. Although the images inside the plane have not been revealed, it probably includes advanced technological features in the cabin.

Cost and size

The capacity of the passengers of the Air Force One is up to 70 people and is about 231 feet long. Its travel range is around 7,800 miles on a complete fuel tank.

Each Air Force originally cost $ 325 million and the two received billions of dollars upgrades during the years of presidential use.

Interior design

The 747-8i is more like a flying palace, with luxurious interiors which focus on comfort as opposed to military functions. The gifted plane of Qatar has more social parameters, such as lounges and catering suites.

End of travel

The Air Force One is the official plane of the President of the United States and is technically exploited by the US Air Force, which makes the government belonging to the government. It is made for national security and the world command while the president travels for the official affairs of the White House.
