7 states, cities and American cities that will pay you to move there

Whether you take a step to escape the high costs of a big city or just want a new start in a new place – why not be paid?

There are many states, cities of the United States which offer financial incentives to go there. This is something that Evan Hock, co-founder and chief of the Makemymove exploitation said to CNBC, he wants more people to be aware.

“For the first time, consumers are in the driver’s seat where they live and work. They are more mobile than ever, both thanks to a distance work, and if you are an intelligent person, you can almost get a job anywhere, and that gives people options,” he said.

“They go from places like California, New York, Texas and Florida to places that may have a better quality of life. As far as they are looking for affordability and community connection.”

The objectives of most of these programs, says Hock, is to reach an audience of talents ready for the decision and to develop their communities.

“The places that participate most often are places in the middle of the country. Many times are places that have historically fought to grow, or they have lost talents in the city centers. It is a way of being able to open their doors and bring back part of this talent.”

Before applying for one of these programs, one of the most important things to do is to visit. Hock says it is something he finds that many people are neglecting. But once it did, go for it.

“The seats are limited, so if you plan to make a movement, it is free to apply and apply a type of name in the hat, so take the plunge,” he adds.

In June 2025, the following cities and states offer financial incentive, some paying up to $ 12,000.
